Making it official

I would like to officially announce my OKC Thunder fandom. Of course i love the silky smoth KD, yes I like to watch Westbrook weave in and out of defenses like people are standing still. I feel like this is a good time to break this news, after a ablsolute dominating performance by the Lakers on their home floor, Im there for you guys its our time. I know it doesn't look good when you have to go back to back on the former champs with a game 7 in L.A., but we are young fast and hungry. James Harden will find his stroke again at home in game 6, Ibaka!!!! will fly all over the paint making plays, and we will make this a 7 game series. Young core everyone of those guys has 2 years on their contract, shave some cap sapce with Nenad Krstic, Nick Collison, and Etan Thomas' deals that will all expire in 2 years that will free up almost 20 mill in cap room for extending contracts to your key existing pieces and hopefully adding some bench scoring and another big man option or two down low with a freakish Ibaka(watch out league congo fever is coming). Ya that's Serge in that pic fun time enjoy this young team.

why you go to Kentucky

Sunshine through the clouds(<--douchey metaphore)

April 8Th the NCAA tournament has come and gone, and what a great tourney it was. Wonderful ending for the Dukies against a very talented Butler squad in a game that came down to the last shot. It was great, and then it was over. For a time I was sad, maybe shed a tear, but alas the Western Conference playoff battle appeared. Thank you Kevin Durant, Dirk, DERON WILLIAMS, Mr. Rudy Fernandez, Maaaannuuuuuuu, J.R. Smith, Tony Parker's ankle, and soooo many others for making the end of this regular season competitive and mean something, I can't wait to get the playoffs started all those western conf series are gonna be awesome. It will be exciting to see who gets the privilege of taking on the Lebron's.

We're back...I hope

Ya I'm a Duke fan so what. I jumped on the bandwagon around the 2001 title i fell in love with the floor slapping, the tight man D, Jay Will Knifing to the bucket, and that one token white guy who is always a great college player(Duleavy that year). Then came the J.J. era and i fell even harder. Anything inside half court was fair game, J.J. had a way of being a cocky d-bag but still being crazy fun to watch. I loved the long holds on follow throughs, and the way he strutted after hitting a deep three coming off 27 screens running half a mile, so amazing. Duke's recent history in the tourney has been abysmal for a program of their caliber. Choke after choke highlighted by a highly disappointing, to say the least, lose to a scrappy little VCU team as an 11 seed a couple years ago. Now today we are back, and deservedly so, 2 token white guys that can hoop in Scheyer and Singler and the firecracker that is Nolan Smith. Needless to say I'm terrified, ya Duke has size, ya they are killing teams on the offensive glass, yes we can shoot over Butler's zone, but the most important and scary yes is Butler can beat us. This game is far from a forgone conclusion, the past March short comings keep creeping in my head. I've been telling myself all morning this is a different team with upper class men leading the way and an Olympic gold medal winning coach at the helm, we got this...I'm pretty sure we do at least.

Happy Easter-how my head works

Quote from the sermon at church this morn..."God is with you when you're winning, but he is amazingly with you when you are losing." I couldnt help but think...man the Nets are super down with Jesus.

Shining Moment

I am sorry but if this moment did not get to you than you have no feelings.  I have watched Blind Side and going into it I thought it would get me(nothing).   I watched this and it got me.  I did an article on Brad Stevens willing his team to the Final Four(which I hate to say I was right).   Bob Huggins team won me the brackets and my life long love for the team all in one show of class that can not be measured.  Mountaineer's top player Butler goes down bad on his knee and the world goes silent.  "I was just apologizing because I wanted to win it for him, too," Butler said. "Don't be sorry," Huggins told him. "I love ya." Are you kidding me?  If you are on the fence of where you want to send your kid to play, I think Bob showed that he is going to take care of your boy.  "I'm not surprised," Butler said. "That's my coach. He's like a father to me. It's something we expect him to do. Maybe everyone else didn't, but we're all a family and we love each other."   I watch a lot of basketball and the only story that comes close(not at all) is DeMarcus Cousins was struggling and he was calling his friends back home for motivation. Calipari grabbed his phone and put the Akron hammer(Sir James) in his phone to call.  That alone when I heard he did that was overly amazing.  Bob cradled his star and it did not matter the score.  Imagine  your son short of breath, I believe Bob would have saved the day.
